The name of the song is Lux Aeterna....

But that's not the reason I'm 6'ing this.

The idea was there, and could have been very good, but there were some things working against you. The beat for this song is just too simplistic, and it was patterned in a way that didn't flow well with the song at all. Additionally, the synths that came in at :48 were rather loud and harsh sounding.

Work on making a more coherent beat pattern, and lower the volume on your synths a bit, and this song will sound much better.

i agree the beat kinda sucked, but the harsh syncs were supposed t obe, it was meant to be rough sounding
thanks for the reply, helpfull comments are rare these days

There can be no improvement.

I knew this song would come out even more phenominal than the WIP, and here it is. There's so much emotion flooded into the song, it's nearly overwhelming.

I actually have no constructive advice for you on this one. You can only take the next step forward with your style.

OpenLight responds:

Thanks! I'm glad that I've finally made a song that turned out well.

There are no words really. I'm almost in awe myself of how it turned out, and not in a cocky way either. I'm surprised I could do some of the stuff that I did. Ideas popped into my head while making this and they all went with the song well and enhanced it.

Finally, I have my Wind Sentinel. Hahaha

This is beautiful.

It's always the ones you don't finish right away that are the best. You put them up on NG in their incomplete states because you know you've made something that astounds even you, and you want others to experience it as you have.

This stub of a song is the single best thing I've ever heard from you, dude. It has a very slow, sad feel to it, and I can only imagine what it will sound like finished.

OpenLight responds:

Thanks! That actually means a lot. I made the main stuff while improvising on the piano at UE, and I love how it turned out in FL Studio. Of course, this is all digital, because I don't have a way to record myself on the piano and I'm not this good, haha.

To be completely honest, a lot of the FX I put in this were a result of your reviews and songs, plus I always wanted to make a good piano-driven song since your "Eat The Dog, Bobby" WIP, which is one of the best FL Studio songs I've heard.

Hopefully I find a decent way to continue and eventually wrap up this song. Thanks for the review!

I see the dodo jumping...

...But everything else is different. While he's falling, he's getting hit by everything imaginable. Rocks, flocks of geese, an airplane, that kind of stuff.

This song is pretty impressive, full of activity, always changing. Me likey.

OpenLight responds:

Haha thanks. You saw it just like I did.

The drums at the end is the dodo being pounded on the rocks as he drifts downstream.

Painful......I love it!

That dude who 1'd your song doesn't understand. Dubstep is supposed to be powerful, ugly-sounding, and violent at every note possible.

You nailed amazingly, and the incorperation of 8-bit made it so much better, man.

Very nostalgic.

I love the very upbeat feel to it, it's just a little basket of happy to me.

For it ti be better, I guess it could be longer, I don't know. It's pretty fine the way it is.

KKSlider60 responds:

All of these loops are about a minute or so in length. At 160kbps quality, its mp3 is about 1 to 1.5 Mb, meaning that if a Flash artist wants to use it somewhere it'll be a piece of cake to compress it. Although I have a minimalistic approach to quite everything, I'll try something different with 8-Bit music. :)
Thanks for your review,

This is decidedly dirtier sounding than the original song, with the breakbeats and all you put in the middle.

The sliding was off the chain, as always, but I think you could have done more to give this song a bit more atmosphere. That's it, I think.

OpenLight responds:

Awesome. I'm glad to know at least YOU liked it, haha.

I may edit this version later but I don't know yet.

How'd I miss this?

I listen to your songs every day, and I'm just now hearing this one. The 8-Bit has to be the best I've heard from you, and that percussion.....OMG.

The atmosphere this track produces is so unexpected. It's got a very despondant, hopeless feel to it, but it's still relaxing, like someone who's accepted the fact that he's going to die in the blackness of space.

It's wierd, but it does nothing to dull this song's brilliance.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Thats really great to hear man. I'm glad you find time in your day to hear me out. I love 8-bit sounds. They're really great. Pure waves of sorts.

I'm glad you get that from the song. It's exactly what I was going for.

Weird is a forte of mine I might say.

Decision were made.

This will be the song I remix. It's a bit simple as far as depth, but I think I can do something about that.

OpenLight responds:

Wooo, excitement!

Hey, once you remix it, it means I'm free to remix another of your songs. Not so you can remix another of mine, etc. infinite remix, but you have so many freaking songs that'd be fun to remix. Haha.

Of course, I may have to actually take that music making break because my left speaker in my headset went out. (sad face)

Anyway, thanks for the review! I'm looking forward to YOUR next submission, and of course for that remix! Ur an hero.

Ohohoho, man.

I wasn't expecting this. This is a very good sounding song. The kick could use a bit more volume, but maybe that's me. The way you worked the bells and other percussion created a very subdued, underwater feeling.

You nailed it with this song.

ganon95 responds:

thank ya =]

the kick is plenty powerful, try listening on an ipod and you will see what i mean
