This is some benchmarking stuff, man. I really love the quality of sound in this track. There's so much atmosphere to this track, it honestly reminds me of the very airy, serene music on the Minecraft soundtrack.

And your use of percussion and brass takes that serene feel and transitions it into a powerful, bombastic march that I honestly wish had lasted longer before moving back into the strings and music box. However, the way you brought it back towards the end of the song was just satisfying.

Chemiqals responds:

Thank you so much! I'm really happy you felt this way about it! =]

I've been waiting a very long time for this day.

It's very good to hear new uploads from you again, and this new song is so good. It's incredibly powerful sounding throughout, giving me the image of a tired soldier suiting up and doing battle one last time.

And that's the sort of imagery your music has always transmitted to me. It's always a fight, there's always a hero and there's always an opposing force exuded in the composition. Your older music, like "Wizard's Ascension" and "Wizard's Finale," and even "These Mistakes," uniquely capture the struggle of man versus overwhelming circumstances.

I've been a huge fan for years, and this new album you're working on has me excited beyond description. I look forward to the final product, and keep doing what you do.

This is incredible sounding, man. Loving this, and Laura's voice is wonderful.

Well, actually, this sounds really good. The arrangement of the hats and the snares were definitely spot on, and the beat was pretty cool sounding. I feel like the only thing missing is a sub bass line, but even if this song gets finished without one, it's a good go at the genre. I'd definitely like to see what you do with this song if you continue working on it, if you experiment a bit with things, you cold make something mindblowing.

For what it is, though, I give you five stars.

I really like how this sounds. So crisp and glitchy. It makes me nostalgic for my old NES games.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but it also makes me nostalgic for the music of another NG artist.

MuteHero responds:

Thank you for listening, User.
No offense taken. I've lived too long for such things.

I can definitely see myself wandering around the labyrinthine depths of a pyramid listening to this. I love how well it characterizes the feel of being in a pyramid.

Definitely a good song.

GamekrazzyProduction responds:

Cool, and thanks for listening! Glad you liked it!

This is thick. I love the density of sound in this tune. The glitches keep it moving forward, they always keep me guessing.

But, there's something I really like about this song. Your guitar playing is fantastic. It just sounds so good and I find myself straining my brain to get more of its sound into my ears. It's definitely a great addition to your music and I never really acknowledged it before this song.

Good stuff, man.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Thanks Retro,

I did want the track to feel dense. Like a raincloud about to burst.

I also -usually- try to blend the guitar in and not make it an overbearing "hey here's this guitar riffing".

This is one of the most powerful songs I've heard from you. It's so dense and atmospheric that you almost feel trapped inside the spacesuit as it plays.

Something else about this is that while there is percussion at work, I didn't notice it. Considering how much I love what you do with samples, take this as a compliment. You put so much emphasis on creating atmosphere for this song that the beat didn't matter to me. I was so focused on the guitar and the density of the effects you applied that the beats and glitches got woven right into the song seamlessly.

This is incredible. I kinda already listened to the full song on your Soundcloud and shared it, but I can't wait to hear what you do next.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

You think so? That's pretty cool. I was going for something powerful / dreary-ish / something that would crawl inside you and make you feel it.

I didn't want the beats up front. I have been focusing more on ambient tones lately. I'm glad you notice these things.

I appreciate you passing it on, man. Thank you. Always more music to make!

This is sick, man. I have a soft spot for crazy Amen glitching, and this was psychotic.

ljkDICKJUSTICE responds:

awesome man, thank you very much!!!

Well, this is one Hell of a return, OpenLight. The combination of orchestral and electronic instruments just come together so beautifully in this song, and the drums have just the right amount of reverb to them that they drive the song forward without getting lost in the mix. There's a certain level of macabre mystery to this song as well, as many elements to it sound so ghostly and sinister. Definitely a rich experience overall.

OpenLight responds:

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it, I honestly wasn't too sure how well it'd be received.
