"Starbound," and a little bit of revisionism.

Posted by RetromanOMG - November 10th, 2014

So, if you haven't already, please give my newest upload, "Starbound," a listen!

And on another note, I'd like to talk briefly about why this song even exists. So, a few weeks ago, I put some of my songs on my MP3 player, and I was really, really displeased with how they sounded on my car's stereo. They sound just fine to me on my headphones when I'm at my computer, but playing any of my songs back-to-back with those of other, more talented artists on a more sophisticated sound system shows this really awful disparity in sound quality that I couldn't stand.

"I miss when I was an Astronaut," the song that has been remade as "Starbound," was, among my most strongly disliked song in recent memory, but after reopening the project file and making some major changes (among them, changing that awful name), I wound up with something I was more than happy to hear come up on my shuffle. And I think I'm going to give that revisionist treatment to a few of my older songs in the next couple of weeks. The changes to certain songs aren't going to be as dramatic as can be heard in my newst upload, but I at least want them to be higher quality than what I usually put out, as well as get down a solid mastering process I can apply to future works.

(also I'm going to start working on an EP when these remakes are done)

Hm… it's pretty good. :)

Yeah I think my new song has just over 40 downloads.

HAHAHAHA

(For reference, this is an in-joke)
