To put simply: :)

I love Monster Hunter, and this song brings me back so much. The sounds were a bit stock-ish, but the song was no less fun to listen to.

I'm gonna play Tri again now, because of this song.

drew6464 responds:

Haha! I love it too, though I can't find the time to play it anymore. The 500 Wii Points we got from buying it are gone, and I don't know why. Oh, well, it's a really fun game. :P

This is sweet, yo.

I can definitely hear OL's style in this song, but there are some things you should work on.

Try using different hats than the stock one, its sound is very recognizable. Another thing would be to vary up your instruments. Just look for more instruments in FL and try them out.

drew6464 responds:

Thanks, Retroman. Let's see... the reaseon I use the hat from the stock is because it's SO DARN CATCHY AND AWESOME. For my music, you will always- and I mean always- hear that hat. You can't change me. But thanks for the advice. :P And the thing about new FL Studio instruments, that's exactly what OpenLight taught me. At first I only used the Channel Presets. I had no idea there were any more!

Funky, lol.

This has a really varied, yet energetic feel to it, but it's so spontaneous, so unexpected at each turn, there's no way I can't love it.

Something I should tell you though, if you plan on going further with music production, J, is that the mixer can be your best friend. Try setting FX channels for your instruments and use the mixer to give them that extra effect.

J-Ville responds:

Been working on the mixer since this song. Haven't got it done quite yet but by the next song I'll do my best to mix it better

This song kills.

Every other song you've made so far. That is all.

OpenLight responds:

Haha, that's better for drew than it is for me. I agree though. I think I could put a lot more passion into this song than I could with any other song. That's how I was with my remix of your song, but I wasn't as experienced when I did that one.

I'll have to remix one of your other songs soon, if I can that is.

Better than the original,

but I feel you stuck to the original style of the song too much. The way your songs sound now, I thought you would completely redesign this one. You can do things way different for this song.

OpenLight responds:

Yeah, I may completely remix the song later, but this one is more of just a remake.

Thanks though! I tried putting in some of the stuff from my new style (the drums being much newer-styled), but the melody would need to be completely changed for it to work out otherwise.

Woo! A good review!

I remember this song.

You've uploaded it before, and it was one of the first songs of yours I listened to.

I remember it shared a lot of glitch and percussion patterns with Wasp-12B and The Great Accident.

I wish I could remember the name you gave it back then, it's really bugging me. Still, it's as good as ever.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

I have? Odd, i don't recall. I probably did. It's awesome that you can liken it to certain pieces. There's plenty of occasions where I scrap a project and salvage only the bits I truly enjoy to potentially be used in something else, or, taken apart more. If I come across a file that is titled something different and is the same track, I'll let you know :)

Very nice

The melody is very well done in this song, and the beat just flows so well with it.

I don't know how you did what you did with the bassline in this song, sounds like it's wobbling or something, but that's freakin sick.

This song makes me want to leave Breakcore and try conventional DnB.

garlagan responds:

Thanks a lot; I'm glad you liked it x)

Woops, showed up late.

Oh well, this song still kicks some major ass. You kept up the same feel and energy of the WIP you posted and then added some.

This has a kind of strong trancey feel to it, although not exactly Hardtrance. It's a strong, ever-changing song.

Sorry I don't have any real good advice this time. This song is just amazing.

OpenLight responds:

Haha, thanks! I love this song mainly because it's done. I'm working on new instruments and packing together my favorite presets, so that's giving me a headache. I have one instrument that sounds cool that's a modification of a saw I used in this song.

Anyway, thanks!

This is unbelievable.

I could definately take lessons from you, man.

Your style is so strong, never letting up except when it wants to, then it just hits me again with amazing breaks, glitches and orchestral riffs. Great work.

poopr1221 responds:

Thanks! Glad you liked. REALLY poured a lot of time into the glitch hop section, so I'm glad you like it.

O.O

Is this that next step I was talking about? It's definitely your style, but coming from a whole new direction. It's strong, energetic, but it's also creepy in a good, enjoyable way. The kicks were great for this song, not too loud or too soft. You pretty much nailed it.

Something I could suggest to you is to layer the percussion. Make a faint pattern of snares and kicks to give more depth to the song. Oh, and finish this thing, it's amazing.

OpenLight responds:

Haha, yeah I'm definitely going to finish this! And thanks! I'll definitely do some layering once this is all done, too.

Just so that I'm clear, I tried like 5 other songs before this one, haha. They all sucked though and were just leeches of time. I'm so lucky that this one turned out the way it did, or at least it is turning out the way I'd hope it would be.
